My creations are handcrafted and delicate. To help them retain their loft and beauty over time, here are our expert tips:
• Chunky Knit (Polyester): Polyester is more durable than traditional wool, but it loves softness.
• Washing: Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. If a full wash is necessary, hand wash in lukewarm water.
• Drying: Never tumble dry. Gently squeeze out excess water without twisting and dry flat on a towel to prevent the knit from stretching under the weight of the water.
• Tip: Regularly shake your throw or cushion to restore the fibers' fluffiness.
• Velvet: Velvet is sensitive to crushing and dust.
• Dusting: Use a soft clothes brush or a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment, brushing in the direction of the pile.
• Stains: Dab immediately with a clean cloth. If the stain persists, use soapy water (Marseille soap) without soaking the fabric.
• Shine: To restore shine, you can very lightly steam the fabric (iron at a distance, without touching it).
• Eco-leather & False leather: This material is easy to care for but sensitive to chemicals.
• Cleaning: A simple wipe with a soft sponge or a slightly damp microfiber cloth is sufficient.
• To avoid: Never use alcohol, solvents, or bleach, as these can cause the surface to crack.
• Maintenance: To maintain suppleness, you can occasionally wipe the leather with a cotton pad soaked in mild makeup remover.
• Genuine leather: Leather is a natural material that develops a patina over time.
• Protection: Waterproof your item before first use to protect it from rain and stains.
• Care: Moisturize the leather once or twice a year with a special leather balm or colorless cream to prevent it from drying out.
• Sun: Avoid prolonged exposure behind a window in direct sunlight, which could discolor the leather.
My advice: Chunky Knit is a "living" material. It's normal for slight pilling to appear with friction. Don't pull on it: gently cut it with scissors or a small fabric shaver to restore your piece to its original appearance!
